Yes reasonable and moderate change all in moderation. Keys here are "worked for us so far", and yes, it seems to.

In 2021 the world economic war of winner take all ideologies the new bad guys are China, lts kind of like an economic cold war with some cyber weapons (information) assisting in various skirmishes and proxies dustups that get reported in the daily blabber news.

Back in the day we had whatever it was, shhhh, this thing called manifest destiny. I think we have an idea how that relates to empires. Also back in the day China learned the hard way about colonizations, all the way to the contemporary days of corporate colonization, and now their new autocrat (for life?) is riding his horse out to something known as the Belt & Road initiative. How charming empires name their initiatives with such flowery names, mmm-mmm. Previously I think one of our leaders, I think it was Reagan, named some mx missile, the peacekeeper. Lovely, was going to be pricey but still, lovely name.

I do agree with the old Chinese saying about not wishing to live in interesting times, I mean, it can prove fatal. So yeh, I prefer my excitement in moderation, avoiding power traps like Jan 6th here in the states. Ouch.
