Yes, I remember Jack LaLanne, fondly. Lately, he might appear on previously recorded infomercials selling blenders and healthy vegetable puree cocktails buried in cable channel hell or possibly on YouTube, but I didn’t check.

Back in the early 60s, I would get on a greyhound bus and ride to Detroit to visit my Grandma, probably gave my parents a break too, back when riding greyhound could actually be an experience to remember, unlike nowadays. Being a tween then I’d accrue some spoilage at Grannies watching Detroit TV, where that city had a little more broadcast available than our hometown. Besides Bozo the clown show, popeye and the like, we would normally not receive the Jack LaLanne tv show, a morning show at the time. Though the production qualities back in the analog tv days seemed differently enabled, Jack’s show kept my attention even at my young age. What with his dog, someone playing the accordion for background sound, still you could tell and see his enthusiasm even on that technology of the day. He’d say things like we are going to try something different today and change things up a bit, phrases like that. So you could see this guy had faith in what he was doing.

Your take on how he was driving himself is interesting. Of course, I would probably not have known how to identify that behavior when very young the way described in this article.
