Winter fubar. We run 2 small space heaters for about 2 months out of the year in a 3 seasons room so the wintering plants won't freeze and the spare fridge won't go nuts. This is despite the endless warnings about inefficiencies and other warnings. But it's still cheaper than retrofitting a 1960s house with new wiring, and more roof and floor insulation, which could easily set us back tons of money with thousands of dollars of upgrades.
