Used to be something like "what's good for GM is good for America". However, now all that production BS is long gone and replaced with a kind of annual consumer consumption-religion calendar planner. Somewhere around 800 +/- a few days can be referenced on the Holy of Holies annual consumption calendar. Or at least two special celebration days for every day of the year.

Before the official celebration calendar became ingrained in our culture, the month of August used to be the last getaway month for many before all hell broke loose in the Fall seasons. I mean seasonings.
