Tricky yes. Humans IMO, or by and large, somewhere under 12 yrs. old in our society pretty much have their baskets of social behavioral interactions set, possibly for life. Sure we bring in more info forever but we tend to file all that away in all our own pre-existing pov file cabinets upstairs.
When some event happens such as when I have on a number of occasions put my foot in my mouth and then suddenly realize I said that? Oopsie! In society, it becomes hard to wind that kind of stuff back. The hardest part is figuring out when we are performing all these faux pas daily. In fact, if people care it's downright embarrassing.
I think not enough people in groups or individually catch all this hoof in mouth disease going on all around us.
