This all reminds me of a decades old Thanksgiving in the grandparents house loaded with relatives who in the late evening were all sleeping it off. My father and I were standing around in a darkened kitchen having a conversation before turning in, during which after I let loose with a few colorful linguistic word strings my father thought for a second and replied, "Timothy, when are you going to learn the king's English?" Oopsie, slightly later in the conversation he added, "Sometimes it's best to say nothing." Sage advice from the pre-boomer generation.
