There are many ridiculous things in the modern world that don't make any sense and also are energy ridiculous, yeah, golf courses in the deserts of the southwest are a great example of ∅ sense. Maybe switch to a frisbee course.

E.G. Pumping water from the Glen Canyon dam reservoir halfway across Utah to irrigate golf courses in southwest Utah where that reservoir is suppose to help water flow to the lake mead reservoir that also supplies water and power to Las Vegas. Then again maybe we don't want to know what all that water and power is doing going to everything that happens in Las Vegas.
