The mind knows a lot. The mind and the body might not collectively know enough to get off some hamster wheel that is considered non-productive behavior.
Booze is kind of an add-on feature that may manifest itself with negative mind-body outcomes, like a hangover. Booze may amplify a mind's desire, though a depressant, to the point of physical discomfort which I think is the plot of this piece. 🤔?
The drive to be busy, body & mind, and use all available time to achieve productivity might not be coupling with the mind while distracted by say, booze.
Experimenting without distractions could make discoveries simpler or especially, identifiable. Like today, a similar behavior problem was written by another ambitious Medium writer here. Accumulative mal behaviors are not always recognizable inside anyone's mind, they have to be, with some luck, discovered hopefully without repetitious distractions.
Hopefully, someday you will slap your forehead and say 'Shit, of course, duh!'. Oh, almost forgot, and also, nothing's easy until you really know it is.
