That's right, pipe for weather stations and bird feeder hangers. Versatile. It's like screwing legos instead of the snapping kind.

We are waiting for spring over here in Southern Wisconsin and noting the angle of the sun and the days getting slightly longer. But we have the usual ton of snow laying around with big piles around the shoveling parts.

Yes, the Grosbeaks are much less prevalent than over a decade ago. Don't know if that's due to endless fertilizer poisons or food supplies. They used to hang around crabapple trees and chew out the seeds or munch on the old crabapples, I've seen only one or two this year. Still get lots of others that eat roughage seeds, including the climbing squirrels, rabbits, moles, pesky chipmunks, and no doubt a few we are never awake to see like raccoons, the occasional coyote. Maybe some are slowed down if not in some kind of sleep cycle, but when it warms up they will all be out to play and it will be another year of us against them. :-) They usually know how to stay out of sight. The latest cold snap is surely giving them all trouble.

Thought of the day. Be thankful we don't live in Texas.
