We are lucky in our midwestern town/city/county where the city happens to own a golf course very close to (across a hwy in town) the current county landfill. Locale .gov is planning to repurpose that land to some new recycling utility campus plus landfill allegedly to last out to 2045. It's better than say living in a heap of crap, IMO, so it will have my vote if I'm still around. There will no doubt be some rich boomers out there hitting their little white balls around who may grouse about this, but really it's an opportunity to save a bundle for the dying boomers and the younger gens in these parts. Not exactly exciting news but heck turning garbage into something upbeat? ✅
