That nicely sums up the general USA workplace environment. We see this time and again with huge marketing budgets and no real services experienced, zip to none, because huge services budgets generally don’t exist in the first place, just in name.

If honest the term “generic incompetence” would be included on most resume materials, but somehow doesn’t roll off the tongue well. Big outfits hire multiple generic performers to do the job of one to avoid any other dependency issues that may pop up, thereby allowing higher-ups to do close to nothing. How do companies end up with so many VP’s of anything, you explain that well.

On top of all this, higher-ups can’t be bothered with complex budgetary issues, since they have to grabble with tough issues like office gossip and dress codes.

Makes me wonder, have the empire’s engines of production collapsed yet, or have we just not received the memo?
