So right on so much. We have homeschoolers on our street and they are doing fine, and we live in a community that prides itself on its public schools.

Unfortunately, rather than the practices of yesteryear ( much great reporting, thank you) we currently seem trapped in a system where bean counters are doing the deciding on what is educational success. This affords the kids, administrators, and parents a kind of let George do it confidence. So parents say they are paying their taxes, administrators have explanations showing that no one is to blame for any issues that rise up, including GPAs, (especially them), and the kids seem to attend.
