Since you have recently been diving into the whole Medium Algorithm issue of late, I was wondering what is your take, (if available in some future story) on the Medium Social component regarding the reader response sections available for each story and is that section of each story in any way used in writer compensation? That is, is the reader responding in any way a calculation in reader engagement in any story other than the simple reader to writer communication?

Is there further value to the response section regarding Medium’s business model or planning? Is it being used evaluating future dealings with books, series, and authors where Medium somehow sees positive feedback for their business model? But that’s IMO. In other words like all social networks what kind of data mining is going on in the response section?

So far it seems Medium’s business focus is that of an aggregator blog publisher of sorts, where can they go from there?
