Our first house in a town under 10,000 was built in the older styles with some french doors and a few stained glass windows plus walk-in closets and a real pantry, built about the same time just before the 1900s. Ex. the basement, full red-stone basement outer wall, air gap, 1" to 1" plus limestone(?) wall, air gap2, and probably put in later, cinder block basement wall. All kinds of stuff like that, it's amazing what time does.
