"Our 50-state structure is absolutely the worst"

AKA bureaucracy X 50. What could possibly go wrong?

Historians might commiserate over our ancestors in Europe in recent centuries being constantly at war with invasions for resources usually accompanied by scores of locals getting pillaged, plundered, enslaved, or just plain killed to abscond with their accumulated resources.

Yeah, we've moved above all that by making cozy agreements with international wealth owners to choose among 50 choices or more as to where to move their factories & production, if even in-country to begin with. In-country(?) that doesn't happen much, due to international military dictators, they are cheap and easy to bribe. For wealth owners it's simple to pick the country or state with the lowest common denominator of regulation and oversight. Then, simply continue to rake in more wealth with impunity.

Whatever future movement happens, we should work to break this cycle of exploitation. This is a big bad habit that needs breaking if any fair changes are to be realized.
