The insurance industry owned several states and influenced senators along with other owned states in the medical industrial complex. Certainly not just the GOP, even though their behavior today has earned them a warm fuzzy in hell.

We were all just witnessing American cash for trash legislation back in the early Obama years. While the GOP was cooking up death panel stories, kind of like their latest bloviating over medical aid to stop a pandemic, those diversions piddled real legislation right out of existence which is just what the medical lobbies in their complex wanted, a continuation of welfare for the medical industrial complex. Oh, sigh.
