Maybe the current Medium management can't figure out how to make more revenue without alienating subscribers. So they might try a multi-tier system like so many software companies do, like basic, enhanced, and pro-user, or some such tired old marketing trope.

Call me a skeptic paranoid type, but after an e-business goes online, a super blog in Medium's case, the e-business seems to have to come up with hundreds of ways to suck more revenue out of thin air, including throwing the kitchen sink at the problem too.

I'm guessing those writers who have been here for a long time, especially in the Medium partner program, have noticed that there appears to be at least 2 re-org ideas per year that are said to be features for the partners. Um, no.
