Mad Magazine: The first and last magazine I ever shoplifted from a Rexall magazine rack when I was around 10 years old. Obviously I was then motivated or hooked on Mad to steal a mag.

From what I noticed at the time I think a middle aged lady at a nearby checkout counter knew I was slipping a magazine under my coat or into my shirt, but back in those days I wasn’t checked by a Rexall swat squad on the way out of the drug store, too 1960s’ish.

I was pretty religious about reading Mad magazine, golly come to think of it, that’s probably why I’ve turned out to be such a well rounded individual. :-)

Several years later I started to read stuff like the short lived ‘Grump Magazine’ that too was loads of fun while it lasted. Some great satire!

Thanks for the reminder, miss the old paper mags, but now of course we have the endless internet, where sometimes it’s just as hard to find stuff, except here on Medium.com of course.
