Lots of folks pay no attention to the science of infectious pandemics. Having grown up and become operational in a 1st world nation didn’t include the social-psychological-economic reality of getting hit head on with a real damaging pandemic. Also, Having bozo in chief for 4 years, who ripped off the country for personal gain and rubbed our noses into it with his ongoing behaviors did not enhance the successful handling of the pandemic.

IMO, the question for the populace becomes adjusting to a new awareness their minds were not ready for, it’s easier for people to buy into a lot of “we are back to normal” shit on the local news along with cheerleaders in all levels of government espousing normalcy.

Damaging changes nationwide exist in the logistical & distribution infrastructure, wholesale service industry job layoffs (everywhere), double-time work schedules for the necessary infrastructure personnel, and geographical dislocations for many people to name a few realities that people won't acknowledge even while experiencing these real changes.

It’s like new parents with their 1st child, Where the F’k is the cheat sheet manual for this! After making it to wherever people are today in this nation, the real missing infrastructure is not recognized by many to the population post-pandemic, and, yet, people ask are we there yet?. Not really at least if people open their eyes and try to visualize wtf is *literally* missing all around them, like facts, because it’s so much easier psychologically to buy into post-pandemic myths.
