If we ever switch over all genres of our transportation models to EVs, then the fossil fuel industry will double down on plastics production making it up in volume play as per classic modern economics. Plastic will actually get cheaper, avoiding newer innovative packaging and known recyclables The fossil fuel industry absolutely will need a market to push their poison.

Yeah, never ever buy one-use plastics, make that a goal.

Also, though Hydrogen fuels may have a purpose for large energy harvesting/usage energy methods, by in large I think we should avoid hydrogen add-ons in the future of renewable/usable energy sources. Basically, hydrogen is a consumable, and consumables (like any other fuel applied minerals) can and will be played by marketeers. This is why the huge fossil fuel industry giants are talking it up, forever, It's a literal bottleneck to be leveraged for profit.
