Hypercanes? Maybe, but I'd worry about governments constantly rejiggering weather definitions for national weather outlets, such as NOAA. In the last decade we seem to have experienced lots of 500 to 1000 year storm chances on some annual basis. Hmmm, do we even have a clue what is next(?), it would be kinda hard to cover up a future double sized

Hurricane Harvey, that is, even now pretending that former Hurricane Harvey is now all but mitigated and paid for. Lots of folks never recovered from that storm.
