Well this can and does still happen and for cause possibly increasingly in this day. I mean there are over 7 billion humans on the planet. Since people are hungry and we might think to be charged to help our fellow humans no matter if our Gods are humanity itself or some other invisible being that never comes around but in spirit every week or so.
