From the reader's POV. the big "M" blog avoids the ad feeds and has a huge wealth of subject. That is readers are not subjected to the firehose cesspool of ads/pitches 24/7 like on mobile and still can get access to a massive variety.

I'm not in the M writing group. yet as the arc of M's biz model and evolution evolves, the writing production peeps, you, may feel like a nail waiting for the next hammer swing of biz model jiggering, which even for private companies many times is absolutely focused on lower-cost yet more revenues. So writers, in this case, appear to be a big part of the big M's toolset. (as in getting that front line trenches vibe and feel).

As we stay in the capitalistic trope we are melded into regarding economics, it's possible the big M needs some competition and in this political season they are receiving some of that as larger legacy media outlets have matched annual sub prices of the big M. Heck, maybe they have finally figured out how to do mobile and online? Who knows(?), or they too are desperate.

With these tool adjustments, writers will no doubt feel like they are riding down the Amazon during flood season swept away with all the other writer riders.

There were some nice tips from your compadres in this thread and we are not into the so-called quantum era yet where auto-bot-pgms will combine decision making in less than a micro-second what both writers and readers will be presented with, possibly the future is worse? How's that for techno panic, that stuff is in the air nowadays.
