Even in the past, the job requirements list(s) became longer and longer, but worse, not always but much of the time, in many hiring situations the employer kind of knew exactly who they were going to hire, but the whole ‘equal-opportunity’ regulations which could also be characterized as ‘going through the motions’ was boilerplate hiring procedure.
Not always but many times, It’s like bring in the last 3 candidates, ‘go through the motions’ but we know we are going to install person xyz no matter what. It was chronic. Sad but real.
