Didn’t read/view either of these scripts, however I’m definitely aware of Charlize Theron in the movies.

It’s possible this recurring theme of Flynn’s animal cruelty scenes is some message to society about the nature of crime and punishment in the people’s mass mind.

Locally when a story breaks regarding some horrific animal cruelty it immediately becomes the shocker of the day, ‘Stop the Presses!’ ‘warning, the following story may be shocking for some to hear’, etc. Even the monotoned news reader might cop a grimace delivering the ‘shocker’!

Yet, in the same newscast another story might be about kids out carjacking grandpa & grandma, beating the shit out of them, maybe plugging them within a millimeter of their lives and the news reader delivers the story as some after thought, like, ahhh, meh. Yeh, they were under 18, so, they will be out to car jack next week or so, another day another <use your imagination>

Point is, people on people violence is basically OKAY. Kick a puppy, die die die you sick human scum! Do I under act, or does society over react to animal cruelty but human on human cruelty, oh well?
