Apparently this bug has employed various human hosted hormonal triggers, meaning it’s not just the prevalence of zillions of domesticated cats plus the occasional hungry stray.

Oh, those cat eyes! They hypnotize and control our thoughts? That would be a trick if ever the cats employed some kind of gotcha gene.
