The trick is when getting a tv, is to get a good picture screen dumb monitor with lots of ports in/out. But those compared to the smart tvs are hard to get right now and also push the consumer into a higher end price range. So in this case, dumber costs more than smarter? (what a world) Of course much of the time the newer smart tvs are really like having an always listening Alexia or personal assistant possibly intruding into one's personal space, since modern smart tvs are not very regulated, it's like a wild west notification e-gadget in your tv room or any room with a later model smart tv.

Think of smart tvs as 'how can we obtain and sell your data' to the highest bidder or those app people in your smart tv.
